UPDATE DEC. 3, 2020: DSA DOCKS OUT EFFORT ON DEC 5TH HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Removal of the Delta Sailing Assoc. docks set for this Saturday, December 5 is cancelled. The Lake has dropped fast enough to leave the docks sitting on the soft bottom. This situation is similar to December 2016 when the backhoe got dangerously mired in mud. Our backhoe operator cannot risk a repeat of that situation.

For now, we will wait another 30 to 60 days and see if the bottom solidifies (or if the water level comes back up and we can float them to the end of the ramp.) We will keep you posted.

The brief business meeting to elect three new Board members will be deferred to the Annual Banquet, now set or February 18th 2021, public health conditions permitting.

Tim Ryan, Commodore
Lynn Jones, Secretary/Treasurer

Original Post:

  • WE’RE GOING TO TAKE THE DSA DOCKS OUT OF THE WATER  SATURDAY!
  • This Saturday morning, Dec. 5, 9:00 AM is when we need help!
  • If you’ve helped before, we need your experience.  It doesn’t take long but we need the help when it happens!  Bring gloves!
  • If you haven’t done a “Docks Out” or a “Docks In” event before, come down and see how it works.  It’s a bit of a party and there will be COFFEE AND DONUTS!  We are usually out of there by 10:30 – 11:00 o’clock.
  • Jimmy is always early with the backhoe, so we need to be there by 9 AM to get the docks separated & cables detached.
  • While we drink coffee we will also have a (very) short business meeting to complete the election of three new Board of Governors members to serve until 2023.  This was delayed from the virtual Annual Meeting on November 17.

Thanks DSA members!
