This can be a chance to sail your own boat if you are willing to do a little work.

UPDATED DETAILS AND PICTURES HERE

Delta Sailing Assoc. will auction four sailboats at their lot at Hernando Point on Arkabutla Lake in DeSoto County, MS at 11:00 AM Saturday May 22, 2021.  The purpose of this auction is first to clear unused and uncared for boats from the lot and the second is to give these boats a chance at a new life.  Minimum bids are $25.   If yours is the winning bid, boats must be promptly moved from the lot unless you are a DSA member, and then other requirements apply.  All these boats are in rough shape, some more so than others and are offered “as-is, where is”.  If you are willing to put in some elbow grease and learn something about a boat as you bring it back to life, this can be a great chance to begin sailing with a small investment.  Contact the DSA Secretary/Treasurer at JL.Jones11@outlook.com for more information.

  • HOBIE 14 – This Hobie with its trailer is intact and undamaged and we will attempt to include the sails and running rigging with the boat.  Production date was probably late 1970’s.
  • HOBIE 18 – This Hobie with trailer has intact hulls, mast, and boom.  Neglected for years, it needs work.
  • LIGHTNING 13483 – This 19’ Lightning includes a trailer, two new tires, sails that have been stored inside, rudder and tiller.  It was dismasted in the 1/11/20 tornado that hit DSA, but a potentially suitable substitute mast is included.  The boom was also damaged.
  • CHRYSLER PIRATEER – Approximately 13’, this hull has no spars, sails, rudder or tiller.  The tornado of 2020 punctured a hole in the deck above the waterline.
